Accelerated Reader is implemented in some schools starting from Year 2. It is typically not used before this stage as it does not align with any phonics schemes. Its effectiveness increases when schools have a wide selection of books available at each level for students to choose from. The books included can be fiction, nonfiction, or part of reading schemes.
Narnia Libraries can catalogue your existing school books (that are AR quizzed) and this can be on your software system or we can provide you with an excel spreadsheet. Books can also be labelled for easy access.
The age guidance indicates interest level; therefore, it is generally advised that younger children do not read books intended for upper key stage 2, even if they are capable of decoding at that level. When selecting books, consider both the age group accessing the books and the required reading level.
Requests for books tailored to a specific age and reading level are accepted, as well as bulk orders for larger quantities of books.
