This small village school in Leicestershire originally approached us for help in getting some book banded books for their children. After looking at their books in the classrooms and the library. We realised we could repurpose some of these books as book banded books. In preparation, the school gathered all books into the library. We then sorted, categorised and labelled books to be either decodable book banded books that linked into their phonics scheme, book banded books for post phonics, reading for pleasure fiction, or themed non-fiction books.
